Angels’ Ten-Year Plan to Net Zero
From our 2025 starting point to our 2035 goal, Angels Care Solutions is working to reduce avoidable carbon emissions and embed more sustainable choices throughout our organisation.

Encouraging progress, with more to do
Our second annual review reports a smaller emissions footprint across the six sources we measure. It is an early step in our 2025–2035 plan, supported by a continuing focus on safe care, staff wellbeing and practical environmental improvements.
Our annual emissions comparison
Company car fuel and employee travel account for 1.9 tCO₂e of the reduction: approximately 79% of the total improvement. Gas and electricity account for the remaining 0.5 tCO₂e. Water and waste figures remain unchanged at the reported level of precision.

Percentages are rounded to one decimal place. The 2025 reference figures come from the plan published in May 2025. This comparison covers the six sources listed; the PDF explains the historical baseline context and remaining reporting work.
Updated scope presentation: Scope 1 is 6.1 tCO₂e, Scope 2 is 5.9 tCO₂e and selected Scope 3 is 9.1 tCO₂e. Gas is included in Scope 1 on the assumption that combustion equipment is under our operational control; water supply is included in Scope 3. This corrects the earlier grouping of those sources.

Building on the first reductions
A lower reported total is encouraging, but reaching net zero will require sustained changes and stronger evidence. Our next priorities are to reduce avoidable care mileage, review office energy use, consider lower-emission vehicle options and improve the completeness of our reporting.
2026 · Strengthen delivery
Build on the reductions while protecting punctuality, continuity, safe staffing and staff wellbeing.
2027/28 · Our next milestone
Work towards 18.0 tCO₂e: 23.4% below the 23.5 tCO₂e reference. A further 3.1 tCO₂e reduction is needed from our latest result, subject to consistent coverage.
2035 · Our net zero goal
Embed lower-emission choices, review further milestones and prioritise direct reductions before addressing genuinely residual emissions.
OUR COMMITMENT
A practical route towards Net Zero
As a care provider, we recognise the need to reduce our environmental footprint while continuing to provide safe, reliable and person-centred support.
Our plan is to assess and monitor emissions across our operations, establish annual reduction targets and make sustainability part of everyday decision-making.
We aim to reduce reported emissions from 23.5 tCO₂e in our 2025 reference figures to 18.0 tCO₂e by 2027/28. This represents a reduction of 23.4%, subject to consistent reporting coverage.

Our previously published total covers selected sources across direct emissions, purchased energy and other activity in our value chain.
Scope 1
7.3 tCO₂eGas and company vehicle fuel, assuming the equipment and vehicles are under our operational control.
Scope 2

The total remains 23.5 tCO₂e. This presentation corrects the earlier gas and water classifications. Historical baseline dates and the earlier 2022 reference require reconciliation, as explained in the PDF.
ACTION ALREADY TAKEN
Reducing waste and energy use
Efficient lighting
Energy-efficient LED lighting, staff awareness activity and motion-activated lighting systems have formed part of our initial programme.
Waste and plastics
Waste separation and recycling facilities have been introduced, alongside work to remove single-use plastic utensils and packaging.
Reducing food waste
Catering is planned more carefully, with suitable surplus directed to foodbanks and shelters where possible.

Our roadmap will be reviewed as policy, technology and operational needs change.

ACCOUNTABILITY
Monitoring and reporting our progress
We will monitor emissions and review targets annually. Our plan draws on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard and the UK Government’s carbon reduction plan guidance for public procurement.
